We have supported people of all ages, ranging from 18 and above, and we pride ourselves in being a leader in disability support.

As one of Rotorua most trusted disability services providers, our team is deeply committed to delivering high-quality, values-driven care that puts people first, and we ensure each person, and their support network, have independence, choice, and control.

Our Whamere are supported 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by highly skilled staff.  Staff members attend regular tikanga and care-giving training as well as specialised training when required.  Staff are also encouraged to participate in NZQA accredited courses.

The entry criteria for a person wanting to join our whanau (family) is, he/she must have a primary diagnosis of an intellectual disability and must be at least 18 years of age and will require a NASC assessment.

Some individuals may need higher levels of support and more frequently scheduled and unscheduled assistance, yet they still do not require the medical monitoring, nursing care or supervision that is provided in a rest home or hospital environment. This is where Punarua may be the right choice to help maintain your safety and well-being.

Those eligible for Punarua services include high-risk seniors, adults with an acquired brain injury or physical disability and those living early dementia.
